Winter Storm Harper
Winter Storm Harper is making its final push into the Northeast today. In our area, the heavy rain that began last night has finished, but now the wind is picking up and temperatures are beginning to plummet.
Brrr… Bundle up! By 6 pm, temperatures will be in the upper 20s. And then very cold wind chills are expected with wind chills as low as 20 below zero tonight into Monday morning according to the National Weather Forecast. This afternoon into early evening, a strong northwest wind and rapidly falling temperatures are expected. Wet surfaces will freeze quickly and icy conditions are likely.
Please take caution, particularly if you are viewing the Super Blood Wolf Moon Lunar Eclipse which begins around 930 tonight. This will be the last total lunar eclipse until May 2021.
This Arctic air will be sticking around for Monday as highs will stay near 20 degrees (feels like the single digits). Monday night, the winds will start diminishing and the skies will clear out to a lot of sun on Tuesday and highs reaching into the mid 30s. And then by Wednesday, it will feel downright balmy with temperatures going into the 50s.
Cold weather notwithstanding, our vendors continue to harvest and produce great food for you and Hattie’s Garden is happy to continue to offer such a wide range in the middle of winter.
Order early and enjoy wonderful vegetables and homemade foods, jams, mushrooms, wild caught fish and more. Thanks for all your support this winter.
Yours in the garden throughout the winter,
