We regret we cannot offer Thursday hours for pickup of fresh produce this Thursday, November 14 at Hattie’s Garden. Due to the many tasks associated with getting ready for the cold weather coming Tuesday and Wednesday night, we will not have time to prepare for our Thursday customers.

Hattie’s Garden uses a variety of season extension techniques to sustain the growing season through the winter months. Some of this needs to be put in place now, which is a bit earlier than usual, because of this week’s forecast cold snap. Therefore, tasks normally done on Monday and Tuesday will have to wait until later in the week and thus the schedule has become too tight to harvest for Thursday.

I hope you can instead join us at the Historic Lewes Farmers Market this Saturday, November 16. It should be lovely weather! Remember it is being held at Shields Elementary School parking lot off of Savannah Road. Easy to park and you can quickly gather your things if it is a bit blustery (or wet)!
