Plants for Sale – April 22 & 24
Plants for Sale on Thursday, April 22 from 2 to 5 and Saturday, April 24 from 9 to 2
Let the tomato season begin! Hattie’s Garden’s expanded list of plants includes the first planting of our heirloom, hybrid and cherry tomatoes this week! While we do expect a couple cold nights coming up, the days are much warmer, the light is much stronger, and for those of you who are anxious to get your tomato plants started, we will have most varieties ready for you on April 22 and April 24.
We also have our first planting of squash and cucumbers ready and the beginning of our flower offerings. Additionally, we will have lots and lots of herbs.
And if you just aren’t ready, never fear, we will have a second go round of everything and often a third. Here at Hattie’s Garden, we plant several successions of most every vegetable and if you are serious about growing your own food, you might try that as well.
Pepper plants are just a bit more tender than tomatoes, thus are not ready yet to be planted. Eggplants are even more tender and will follow closely behind peppers. We expect them in about another week.
So come on by on April 22 and April 24 and talk to Hattie, as well as our other knowledgeable staff about your gardening needs and questions, visit the hoop-house to pick out your tomato, vegetable plants, herb plants, and flower plants, get some ideas and see what we are growing.
Everyone will be asked to wear a mask, but we understand some people are not comfortable yet interacting with the outside world, and we are perfectly happy to pull your plants for you. You do not need an appointment. Simply show up during our hours of operation above with your list and we will retrieve your plants in a timely fashion.
Please use the list provided below for what we will have available. The website shows all that we will eventually have to offer, but not everything will be ready yet, as it is still early.
