The following items are available now to order for pickup or delivery on Saturday, October 9.
We are happy to be working with Davidson’s Exotic Mushrooms and are now offering Portabella, Shiitake, Cremini, Lion’s Mane and Maiitake mushrooms.
Here at Hattie’s Garden, we have nice red radishes, beautiful lemongrass, fresh dill, fresh cilantro and plenty of salad mixes, including young arugula, young mesclun and young lettuce mix.
In addition, the green beans are producing wonderfully. We have plenty of habanero peppers for the brave, and our last week for shishito peppers.
From Totem Farms, there is a good assortment of microgreens to choose from.
302 Aquaponics has plenty of aquaponically grown salad ingredients, and beautiful tilapia fish they raise as part of their aquaponics system. There are no chemicals or pesticides in their growing.
Stag Run Farm has a good selection of apple varieties that include Golden Delicious, Gala, JonaGold, McIntosh and Empire. I have been testing them all and this is my take — Gala is the sweetest and it is a small, crisp and good apple. Empire is the most tart, very crisp and juicy, and is a small to medium sized apple. JonaGold is one of my favorites. It is both tart and sweet, and also nice and crispy — it is generally a very large apple. McIntosh is a sweet, rich apple flavor with hints of berry, and Golden Delicious taste like sweet, spicy apple cider. Stay tuned as we go through the fall for more varieties of apples from Stag Run, some of which you may never have seen or heard of and all of them delicious.
Dittmar Family Farms raises excellent free-range chickens, and this week they have whole and half birds, as well as chicken liver for you. We are also fortunate to be supplying their kohlrabi, scallions and radishes.
Chapel’s Country Creamery has added pasture-raised pork in addition to their premium pastured-raised ground beef. We have available for you bacon, link sausage, loose sausage, ham slices, nice thick pork chops and scrapple. If you are interested in other cuts, let us know. And of course, they have delicious aged and fresh cheese made on their farm using milk from their grass-fed cows.
AlaskaWild Seafoods family-run business has Pacific Cod, Pacific Rockfish, and Sockeye Salmon fresh frozen directly from the boat and flown to the east coast every week. Their smoked salmon is now back in stock.
Rounding out the line-up are wonderful free-range chicken eggs from Twin Posts and honey from Chrissy’s Bees (part of Stag Run Farm).
