October 3 Pickup/Delivery Service
Hattie’s Garden delivery/pickup service continues to bring you fresh and wholesome food. We are now taking orders for the Saturday, October 3 service.
The deadline for placing your order is Tuesday at 8PM. We suggest you place your order as soon as possible to be sure you get what you want, as we do run out of some things.
What’s Available through the Online Order System
The following items are available now to order for pickup or delivery on Saturday, October 3.
Hattie’s Garden is happy to be harvesting lots of fresh young arugula and other salad ingredients for you as the weather cools. We have about one more week to offer you basil at a discount so you can “put it up” for the winter. There is an abundance of nice Hakurei Turnips with beautiful greens. These sweet, delicious salad turnips can be eaten raw or cooked. Just don’t over cook. They cook very quickly as do the greens. Get plenty of this two for one vegetable!
The green beans are still producing, but growth is slowing down with cooler weather. Order quickly and we must limit to one per customer.
Time to freeze your ginger! Some of you like to freeze a supply of ginger to have over the winter to use. Now would be a good time to order it from us.
Stag Run Farms is able to provide us with seven varieties of beautiful apples, including JonaGold, Gibson Gold, Valstar, Ruby Mac, Pioneer Mac, Gala and Fuji.
Dittmar Family Farms has Kennebec, along with free-range chicken and chicken liver available. Totem Farms has wonderful produce, herbs and microgreens. And Fresh Harvest has romaine and butterhead lettuce.
Backyard Jams & Jellies is back this week with more than 50 flavors.
There’s also delicious free-range chicken eggs from Twin Post, fresh-to-order gourmet food from Nancy’s Cafe, a great assortment of fresh mushrooms from King Mushrooms, Alaska Cod, Alaska Rockfish, Coho and Sockeye Salmonn from AlaskaWild Seafoods, fresh honey from Chrissy’s Bees, and fresh cheese from Chapel’s Country Creamery.
Watch for our email late Monday afternoon / early Tuesday morning for what is available during the week for pickup on Wednesday (September 30) and Thursday (October 1) from 10 to 1. That list differs a bit from our order form list as things change here on a day to day basis.
Yours in the Garden,
