Now Taking Orders for the March 28 Service
We are now taking orders for the March 28 Pickup/Delivery service.
Last week we received an unprecedented number of orders, and we thank you for keeping us in business. We will do the best we can to accommodate you, but if you want to place an order, we ask that you put your orders in as quickly as possible. Though the deadline for placing orders is Wednesday at noon, we may have to close down the ordering system sooner if we can no longer serve more customers.
Hattie’s Garden is committed to have safe, fresh produce and and other food items available. We ask you to please be patient. This is just the beginning of the growing season, and it won’t be long before we will be able to offer much more fresh produce. And as circumstances dictate, we will likely continue our service into the foreseeable future.
Our Service Going Forward
In order to keep ourselves and our customers safe, we need to add a few new operational procedures going forward.
-
Payment — Must be made online using a credit card or direct bank transfer. (We will be adding a 3% charge to all invoices to help defray our credit card fees.)
-
Pickup — Please come into the driveway and wait to be helped. Pull in, facing the fence, to allow free movement of other vehicles. Wait for someone to come take your name and we will retrieve your goods. Roll down your back door window so we can place the order on your backseat, or open the hatch and allow us to place the order inside if you prefer. We will be unable to accept reusable bags at this time. Additionally, please do not return egg cartons or jelly jars.
Our NEW HOURS for pickup are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. This is just one hour shorter than our current schedule. If you must come at a different time, please make arrangements directly with Hattie via email.
-
Delivery — Will continue as usual, although you may see your order come a bit later in the morning or early afternoon, depending upon the number of deliveries we have. We love you, but unfortunately, we do not wish to see you. Please do not take this personally. Please allow us to simply leave the order by your door for you.
What’s Available This Week
We will have plenty of Totem Farms Microgreens since most of their restaurant deliveries have been canceled.
Wilder Bread is baking great organic bread as long as she is able to procure her organic flour.
Fresh Harvest has fired up their brand new large greenhouse and should have plenty of hydroponic lettuce.
Chesapeake Organic is growing, but things will be limited, especially as spring planting has just begun.
Nancy Cafe is working as hard as they can to feed us, Krista will continue to provide jams and jellies from Backyard, and we are still able to get great cheese from Chapel’s Country Creamery.
We are getting deliveries of freshly frozen salmon, cod and rockfish from AlaskaWild.
Unfortunately, Davidson’s Exotic Mushrooms are unavailable until further notice, and we are about sold out of Dittmar Farms chickens, but all is not lost. They have a new flock that will soon be ready to butcher. We will keep you posted. And Eileen has been supplying us with lots and lots of freshly laid eggs.
We are so grateful to have some fresh food and pantry items. A big thank you to our local farmers and vendors.
We appreciate your patience. We ask that you make sure you receive your confirmation email after ordering in case we don’t have your order. Also, please check to be sure you get a Quickbook generated invoice on Thursday or Friday. You can then pay online from the invoice.
Stay safe and healthy.
Yours in the garden,
