November 21 Pickup/Delivery Service
Hattie’s Garden delivery/pickup service continues to bring you fresh and wholesome food. We are now taking orders for the Saturday, November 21 service.
Please note that Hattie’s Garden will be operating our service for this coming Saturday, November 21, so you can stock up for Thanksgiving. We then take off the following Saturday, November 28, just after Thanksgiving. We will be back with our service for Saturday, December 5.
For Thanksgiving week, we will be distributing dessert pies for Flying Squirrel Garden on Wednesday morning from 10-12 (November 25, the day before Thanksgiving). Please order your Thanksgiving dessert pies now, and let us know if you want them for this Saturday, or freshly baked for next Wednesday.
Backyard Jams & Jellies has added a nice Spiced Cranberry for Thanksgiving and has also returned their Autumn Chutney to the lineup.
The deadline for placing your order is Tuesday at 8PM. We suggest you place your order as soon as possible to be sure you get what you want, as we do run out of some things.
What’s Available through the Online Order System
The following items are available now to order for pickup or delivery on Saturday, November 21
Hattie’s Garden is harvesting the last bed of carrots this week. Get some for Thanksgiving! We also have nice Red Satin radishes and Hakurei Turnips. We have lettuce mix and mesclun.
If you want turmeric to freeze for the winter, now is the time to get it. With cold temperatures coming, we will need to dig all of our turmeric this week. We still have some lemongrass and that is also easy to freeze.
Available only at the Garden during the week are beets, swiss chard and spinach. They are too limited to add to our order form unfortunately. Stop by and see us Wednesday and Thursday from 10 to 2. The earlier you come, the more likely you will get a bag of spinach!.
Stag Run Farms continues to provide us with apples. Here is this week’s updated list: Stayman Winesap, Gibson Gold, Granny Smith, Fuji, and Golden Delicious (aka Yellow Delicious). Stag Run Farm is also offering 1/2 peck bags of Golden Delicious and Fuji apples for $6. These are “seconds” and are mostly smaller apples that are perfectly suited for making applesauce, pies, or just eating.
Totem Farms has wonderful produce, herbs and microgreens, and Fresh Harvest has romaine, butterhead and mixed lettuce.
There’s also delicious freshly-prepared savory and dessert pies from Jen of Flying Squirrel Garden, wonderful gourmet food from Nancy’s Café, an assortment of flavors from Backyard Jams & Jellies (now back in 8 oz. jars), free-range chicken and chicken liver from Dittmar Family Farms, wonderful free-range chicken eggs from Twin Post, a great assortment of fresh mushrooms from King Mushrooms, Alaska Cod, Alaska Rockfish, Coho and Sockeye Salmonn from AlaskaWild Seafoods, fresh honey from Chrissy’s Bees, and fresh cheese from Chapel’s Country Creamery.
Watch for our email early Tuesday morning for what is available during the week for pickup on Wednesday (November 18) and Thursday (November 19) from 10 to 2. That list differs a bit from our order form list as things change here on a day to day basis.
Yours in the Garden,
