Yes, it’s been cold outside as we are about to bring in the new year. This deep freeze is expected to continue for most of this week, which makes it impossible to do any harvesting of produce.

Therefore there will be no delivery/pickup service for this Saturday, January 6. We plan to resume service for Saturday, January 13. Thank you for your understanding.

Some produce items will recover and some produce is in protected, although unheated, greenhouses, and will likely survive until temperatures moderate.

Although we will not be placing orders with our vendors for next week, we do store a few items here at the house. If you would to like to purchase eggs, sweet potatoes, garlic, honey, or meat items from Bohemia Lea, please email Hattie to arrange pickup at the Garden.

Meanwhile, we would like to extend our best wishes to all of you for a very happy new year. We are very excited here at Hattie’s Garden as each new year gives us pause to consider a fresh start with a clean slate of the anticipation of pursing new goals and having new plans for the future.

We will be posting more information in the coming weeks about what we plan to be doing and what you can expect over the spring and summer.
