What’s Available through the Online Order System
The following items are available now to order for pickup or delivery on Saturday, July 17.
Hattie’s Garden begins the harvesting of beautiful stems of lisianthus this week. These multi-bloom stems are akin to a rose without the thorns. They last forever and are simply spectacular as a cut flower. Buy a nice bunch of all lisianthus stems, or a mixed bouquet with a beautiful lisianthus stem included.
We have both Russian Red Garlic and Phillips Garlic hardneck garlic. These are both heirloom purple-stripped hardneck garlic. Both are “Rocambole” type garlic, which is the garlic choice for gourmet chefs the world over. While these two types of garlic are very similar and basically interchangeable, there are subtle differences and we encourage you to try both.
In addition, Hattie’s Garden is harvesting Swiss chard, young arugula and we have nice small to medium sized Sierra Blanca onions. Our basil bunches are very generous and you’ll want some for making pesto or for the tomato season that is nearly upon us. We love our fresh cut flowers this year and hope you will too. Each bouquet includes a packet of flower food and is guaranteed to last a week.
We are also very pleased to be offering Freeman’s corn for our pickup/delivery service. This corn is often lauded as the best in the area and is the corn sold at the intersection of Robinsonville and Plantation Rd by the Freeman brothers.
Dittmar Family Farms will be showcasing some of their nice red hybrid tomatoes with us this week, as well as regular sized summer squash. They have a new batch of chickens (including half chickens) and chicken liver available.
Totem Farms has red okra, and have expanded their herb selections (including nasturtium blossoms) and there are more microgreens to choose from.
Chapel’s Country Creamery brings us premium ground beef, as well as delicious aged and fresh cheese made on their farm using milk from their grass-fed cows.
AlaskaWild Seafoods family-run business has Pacific Cod, Pacific Rockfish, and Sockeye Salmon fresh frozen directly from the boat and flown to the east coast every week.
King Mushrooms offers a large assortment of fresh mushrooms, including some difficult to find exotic varieties that have amazing health benefits.
Rounding out the line-up are wonderful free-range chicken eggs from Twin Posts, an assortment of jams and jellies from Backyard Jams & Jellies and honey from Chrissy’s Bees (part of Stag Run Farm).
Please note this is the last week for delivery or pickup of Backyard Jams & Jellies for the summer. We will begin again in September. In the meantime, please visit Backyard Jams & Jellies at your local farmers markets and other local venues.
