HLFM Cancelled 7/13 – Hattie’s Garden Open
Due to forecasted unsafe weather conditions, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market (HLFM) is cancelled and will not be open this Saturday, July 13. However, Hattie’s Garden will be open tomorrow morning on Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM. We have a nice selection produce, meat, eggs, cheese, fish, organic dried beans and beautiful flowers. Please stop by if you are able.
What Will Be Available on Saturday, July 13
The following freshly harvested produce and flowers will be available at the Garden from 9 AM to 1 PM.
Hattie’s Produce & Flowers
- Rattlesnake Pole Beans — Nutty, fruity variety of a native American southwestern heirloom pole bean.
- Provider Green Beans — Harvested when they’re young and tender, the ‘Provider’ variety is well flavored and delicious.
- Heirloom Tomatoes — They are here! Large, juicy and fabulous!
- Cherry Tomatoes — Heaping pints of delicious cherry tomatoes.
- Patty Pan Squash — Delightful summer squash that can be grilled or sautéed in just minutes.
- Shishito Peppers — These popular appetizer peppers are mostly a mild chili pepper, with an occasional hotter pepper. Toss in oil and sear in the skillet, then sprinkle with flaky salt.
- Unagi Cucumbers — These delicious cucumbers are spineless and a hybrid Middle Eastern Beit Alpha x Japanese long variety that we love. Small seed cavities and thin skins make them perfect for all cucumber uses.
- Hardneck Garlic — Hardneck garlic has a stronger, more interesting flavor than softneck garlic, and the larger cloves are easier to peel.
- Young Arugula — Triple-washed and bagged.
- Young Mixed Lettuce — Triple-washed and bagged.
- Swiss Chard — Tender young bunches. Cooks quickly and is delicious.
- Basil — Freshly cut. Pesto amounts of basil ready now! Email Hattie and she will have it ready for you by the pound.
- Chives — Freshly cut.
- Flat ‘Gigante d’Italia’ Parsley — Full of fresh flavor that lifts any dish. Freshly cut.
- Fresh-Cut Flower Bouquets — This week we have bouquets with Lisianthus, Zinnias, Yarrow, Ageratum, Dianthus and Gomphrena. Each bouquet comes with flower food, and is guaranteed to last at least a week.
Hattie’s Organic Beans & Organic Raw Nuts
We also carry a nice selection of fresh organic dried beans and organic raw nuts. The organic beans we carry are adzuki beans, French green lentils, red decorticated lentils, kidney beans, cannellini beans, pinto beans, garbanzo beans, navy pea beans, green split peas and hearty bean soup. The organic raw nuts include walnuts, almonds, brazil nuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds, and roasted (not raw!) unsalted peanuts.
