Good Eating
We hope you are partaking in good eating and enjoying what we offer.
As the days lengthen, Chesapeake Organic is beginning to have more produce available, but some items are in limited quality, so check the order form right away for the best selections!
Patty’s Gourmet is back this week with her wonderful assortment of freshly prepared food.
We continue to enjoy eggs from Twin Post and Black Hog Farm, as well as their microgreens. Fresh Harvest salad greens are growing faster each week now, and fill plenty of salad bowls both before and after the advent of our outdoor lettuce crops.
We are always happy to thaw a piece of AlaskaWild seafood. Perhaps you might like a delicious sausage or roast from Bohemia Lea to put on the table during these long winter months.
Backyard Jams and Jellies has the perfect accompaniment for meat dishes as well as breakfast toast and PBJs!
We have some beautiful fresh cheese from Chapel’s Country Creamery and the freshest mushrooms around from Davidson’s Exotic Mushrooms.
Baues’ Busy Bees certainly have been busy to produce all the honey needed for winter colds and flu and spring allergies, not to mention just the delicious nature of real raw honey. There should be something for everyone, including a little boost from herbal care products crafted at Plant Wisdom.
Plant CSA Signup Extended until March 15
The Plant CSA deadline is extended until March 15.
We are in the process of updating our plant page for the 2018 season. This will give some of you a chance to consider your gardening needs. The deadline for payment remains March 15.
We also want to thank all of you who have decided to participate in the Plant CSA program. Our supplies are just beginning to arrive and we are already busy at work in our “potting shed.”
Guest Appearance on the Delmarva Potting Shed
Speaking of the “potting shed,” Hattie’s Garden will be featured on the Delmarva Potting Shed radio program, on Delaware 105.9FM, on March 3rd from 9 to 11.
Hosted by Valery and Rick Cordrey of the East Coast Garden Center, the Delmarva Potting Shed discusses a wide range of garden news, tips and tricks. Hattie will talk about spring planting, and offer her insights for the plants she grows for her customer’s gardens.
So tune in to 105.9FM on your radio, or listen in online to the Delmarva Potting Shed. And feel free to call into the radio show with your spring planting gardening questions at 302-839-1059. How exciting!
Early Plant Availability
Although most of our plants become available toward the middle of April, we will have some things to offer before then. We have already started several varieties of lettuce, swiss chard and spinach and will let you know as soon as they are available for you.
