Easter Weekend
Our last delivery / pickup for our off-season service occurs this Saturday on Easter weekend.
We hope you have enjoyed what we have been able to offer during the colder months of the year. We are all happy to be moving into the new growing season. You will hear from us soon about our plant sales here at the Garden. We will get a newsletter ahead of time with all the details.
For those of you who celebrate Easter, we have wonderful items to make for a nice Easter dinner. The availability of local products will ensure you eat well.
Please try to place your order well ahead of our Wednesday noon deadline. Orders are filled as they are submitted and some items sell out quickly. These items are removed from the order form when sold out.
Hattie’s Garden is harvesting our first young arugula, more young lettuce and pea tendrils. We have a limited supply, so please order early.
Fresh Harvest has plenty of nice hydroponically grown lettuces and arugula, as well as microgreens.
My favorite from Chesapeake Organic this week are their fresh bunched beets.
Bohemia Lea is featuring 10-12 pound hams for Easter that are out of this world. They also have great pork chops (two per package) and delicious bacon.
The wonderful sustainably fish from AlaskaWild is the best around, and we can send you best tips and recipes on cooking a wonderfully flaky and delicious piece of Alaska Cod. Their smoked salmon is the best we have ever had.
Backyard Jams & Jellies has lots of great items for your Sunday table, including Mango Chutney, Sweet Fire Dipping Mustard and plenty of Hot Pepper Jellies to choose from.
Deep Grass Horseradish Mustard is a favorite and we still have a small supply of their mild salsa.
Davidson’s Exotic Mushrooms are absolutely as fresh as they get.
And here at Hattie’s Garden, we always make sure to have plenty of Chapel’s Country Creamery cheese on hand.
Black Hog duck eggs are legendary, and if you need a couple dozen Twin Post eggs, now is the time to stock up.

Farmers’ Market Season
We are excited for this wonderful time of year that approaches with the onset of local farmers markets where you can find an abundance of healthy and fresh foods from local farmers and vendors.
Hattie’s Garden will be one of the vendors at the Historic Lewes Farmers Market (HLFM) which begins their 11th season on Saturday, May 6 (8 to 12) located at the George H. P. Smith Park and the HLFM Wednesday Market, beginning June 7 (8 to 11) at 37707 Crooked Hammock Way (by the Crooked Hammock Brewery).
Other Markets in our area include the Milton Farmers Market (starts Friday, April 21 from 3 to 6), Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market (starts Tuesday, May 2 from 11 to 2) and Nassau Valley Vineyards Farmers Market (Sunday May 28 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.).
We are blessed to have so many growing and thriving community-run farmers markets in Delaware.
