Easter April Fools
Easter is a day for Christian families to get together, eat good food, follow their faith and … play pranks? We suppose if it’s also the first day of April. But why is Easter falling on the world’s established day for pranks?
Religious officials designate the date of Easter based upon astronomical events. The holiday occurs on the Sunday following the first full moon of spring, whether that full moon occurs on the day of the spring equinox or in the days following it. This year, the equinox fell on March 20 and the next full moon was on Saturday, March 31.
Next Pickup/Delivery Service Scheduled April 14
We regret we are unable to provide our pickup delivery service on Saturday, April 7. Because of the bad weather from a couple of weeks ago, the course on Produce Food Safety Training/Delaware Farmers, offered by the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension, to help farmers growing fruits and vegetables comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule was rescheduled to this week.
This important full day of training will conflict too much with our normal service schedule. Nevertheless, we feel lucky that Delaware Dept of Agriculture and Agriculture Extension offers this training free of charge to get farmers up to date on new food safety legislation.
We will provide our normal service on April 14 and should have lots of great things to offer by then. Thank you for your patience.
