What’s Available through the Online Order System
The following items are available now to order for pickup or delivery on Saturday, December 24 from 8 to 12.
We are thrilled to announce that Flying Squirrel Garden’s sweet and savory pies are back! Yes, many of you have been asking and we are happy that Jen will be in the kitchen baking pies for you in time for Christmas! Whether you prefer a savory pot pie or a dessert pie, please order quickly. You will be limited to two pies and they will sell out fast!
For the uninitiated, Jen’s pies are absolutely amazing. The savory pot pies are made with mostly organic ingredients with most grown from Jen’s pesticide-free garden. Each pie has a delicious hand-made crust made with organic butter and flour, and infused with fresh garlic and fresh herbs. The pies with meat are made from local free-range chicken and beef. Impossible meats can substituted. These mighty pot pies are piled high and feed at least two people.
The 9″ dessert pies rival any I have ever tasted. They contain real fruit and none of the thick, overly sweet syrup found in most commercial ones. Instead they are lightly sweetened so you can enjoy the delicious filling. You can request a graham cracker crust and/or crumb toppings instead of the regular butter crust.
Hattie’s Garden is harvesting the last of our delicious carrots this week and we still have nice watermelon radishes grown by Taylor Heydt from Lavender Fields. These are lovely when roasted. We have also have small red potatoes, hakurei turnips, pink beauty radishes and a lovely assortment of microgreens.
From Williwaw Farm, we have some of the sweetest organically grown rutabagas we have ever tasted and plenty of nice quality purple top turnips.
AlaskaWild provides us with some of the best wild fish available, directly from a family business based in Clam Gulch, Alaska. We carry whatever is in season and at present have Sockeye Salmon, Cajun or black pepper smoked salmon, Alaska Cod and Alaska Rockfish. This fish is flash-frozen and gets rave reviews from our customers.
Dittmar Family Farms’ delicious free-range chicken is available in wholes and quarter leg/thigh pieces.
For beef or pork, we feature both Woodbine Farms and Enoch Farms. Woodbine is an offshoot of Chapel’s Country Creamery and is providing us with nice free-range beef and pork products. Enoch Farms has also asked us to carry some of their customized sausage products and other pork products.
From Twin Posts, we have wonderful free-range chicken eggs.
Chrissy’s Bees wildflower raw honey and Dutch clover raw honey is made by honey bees living on Stag Run Farm. The honey lightly filtered and never processed (i.e. heated) so that it may retain its wholesome properties as the bees produced it.
From Backyard Jams & Jellies, Krista is offering a limited supply Apple Butter and Pumpkin Apple Butter, in addition to the dozens of delicious of jams, jellies (including no-sugar options), mustards and chutneys.
Chapel’s Country Creamery makes some of the nicest cheese we have ever had. Their onsite creamery produces fresh and aged cheese from their pastured, grass-fed dairy cows. Our favorites this week include cheddar, which boasts a touch of sharpness while remaining moist and creamy, Bay Blue, a Stilton-style variety with creamy undercurrents, Woodbine with the perfect balance of savory and sweet flavors, and Smooth Sails, a Fromage Blanc style that’s airy and creamy (like cream cheese). This cheese is perfect on its own with crackers and Krista’s jam, or as an ingredient used to make cheesecake, cakes and custard.
Davidson’s Mushrooms has Lion’s Mane (Pom pom), king oyster (AKA king trumpet), grey oyster, portabella, shiitake, cremini, and maiitake mushrooms.
We hope you enjoy what we bring to you and continue to eat well into the winter.
