December 18 Pickup/Delivery Service
Hattie’s Garden delivery/pickup service continues to bring you fresh and wholesome food every week. We are now taking orders for the Saturday, December 18 Pickup/Delivery Service.
We are also open at the Garden, located at 31341 Kendale Rd in Lewes, on Thursday from 10 to 2, and Saturday from 9 to 2 for casual shopping. While we keep most items in our inventory, some items may run out and it is best to purchase through the online order system if you want to be sure to get everything you want.
The deadline for placing your December 18 order is Tuesday at 8PM. Otherwise, please stop by the Garden on Thursday or Saturday during our open hours.
What’s Available through the Online Order System
The following items are available now to order for pickup or delivery on Saturday, December 18.
We are taking Christmas week off, but will be back in time for New Years! Yes, we will operate on New Year’s Day. In the meantime, this is the last delivery/pickup service before Christmas, so stock up if you need to!
We are happy to offer Backyard Jams and Jellies again and they make great stocking stuffers! Stag Run Farm honey is another favorite stocking stuffer. And, this week only, we are offering Dittmar Family Farms goat milk products that include their soap, bath bombs and lip balms. The goat milk is provided by their farm’s goat herd, raised humanely on diverse pasture, and hand milked by Jenny Dittmar. All great gifts for the holidays.
Hattie’s Garden continues to pull delicious Napoli carrots. These carrots are first-rate and offer a wonderfully sweet and crisp flavor. In addition, this week we have Siberian Kale. We continue to offer triple-washed salad mixes and bunches of hakurei turnips as well as loose radishes. Our cilantro is still very nice.
Our fresh and delicious microgreens are doing well and receive a lot of rave reviews from our customers. Take a look at the online order form for our current list of available microgreens. If there is a microgreen you do not see and would like us to grow, please let Hattie know.
Stag Run Farm bring us wonderful apples that include Pink Lady (crisp, sweet flavor), Winesap (tart, tangy, firm heirloom), Granny Smith (wonderful for cooking or tart eating), Golden Delicious (sweet and tangy, great for eating), Fuji (sweet and juicy flavor, with a subtle refreshing tart undertone), and Rome (a great cooking apple).
In addition to their handcrafted goat-milk products, Dittmar Family Farms raises excellent free-range chickens, offering whole birds, as well as chicken liver. And this week they have purple-top turnip roots. Delicious.
Enoch Farms has added spare ribs to the line-up of sustainably raised, naturally grown, heritage pork products that include ribs, pork loin, chorizo, and a variety of sausages.
Chapel’s Country Creamery is adding filet mignon to their line-up of pastured-raised beef and pork. We currently have sweet Italian sausage, regular Bratwurst, loose sausage, bacon, pork chops, and ham steaks. Their grass-fed, dry-aged beef includes several cuts: rib steaks, porterhouse steaks, T-bone steaks, top round roasts, stew meat, 85-90% lean ground beef and beef liver. And their onsite creamery produces fresh and aged cheese from their pastured, grass-fed dairy cows.
Twin Posts offers wonderful free-range chicken eggs.
AlaskaWild Seafoods family-run business has Alaska Cod, Pacific Rockfish, Smoked and Sockeye Salmon fresh frozen directly from the boat and flown to the east coast every week.
302 Aquaponics has plenty of aquaponically grown salad ingredients, and beautiful tilapia fish they raise as part of their aquaponics system. There are no chemicals or pesticides in their farming.
From Davidson’s Exotic Mushrooms, the line-up consists of Grey Oyster, Portabella, Shiitake, Cremini, and Maiitake mushrooms.
Jen from Flying Squirrel Garden will return after Christmas to bake pies.
Directions to Hattie’s Garden
Hattie’s Garden is located at 31341 Kendale Rd in Lewes approximately 3 miles from Plantation Road (also known as Rt. 1D), coming inland on either Robinsonville Rd. or Beaver Dam Rd (Rt. 23 South).
Kendale Rd. is a short road (0.6 miles) between Robinsonville and Beaver Dam Road. The house is fifth on the left from Beaver Dam Rd, and has a large wooden fence in front of house with purple trim.
Park in the graveled area facing the fence. If you don’t see us, you may toot your horn. We could be processing things in the garage or working outside in the garden.
Reminder that you do not need an appointment. Simply show up during our open hours of operation. We prefer cash or checks, and do have the capability to take credit cards if necessary.
