Hattie’s Garden delivery/pickup service continues to bring you fresh and wholesome food every week. We are now taking orders for the Saturday, December 16 Pickup/Delivery Service.
New Reduced Delivery Charge for the ’23 – ’24 Season
Due to the construction situation at Five Points and the many detours in place, we know it is more difficult and time-consuming to get to Hattie’s Garden for some of you. Beginning this week and continuing the remainder of our off-season, we are reducing the delivery charge from $8 to $5 to encourage those of you reluctant to brave the traffic fray to stay at home and enjoy a front door drop off on Saturday morning.
Remember, the deadline for placing your order is Tuesday at 8PM.
We are also open at the Garden, located at 31341 Kendale Rd in Lewes, on Tuesday from 12 to 3 and Saturday from 9 to 2 for casual shopping. While we keep most items in our inventory, some items may run out and it is best to purchase through the online order system if you want to be sure to get everything you want.
What’s Available This Week
The following items are available now to order for pickup or delivery on Saturday, December 16. You can stop by on Tuesday from 12 to 3 and Saturday from 9 to 2 for most everything, though placing an online order will ensure it will be available for Saturday pickup or delivery.
This week Hattie’s Garden is pulling some of the sweetest carrots you may have ever tasted. In addition, we have our microgreens and mini-romaine heads, as well as our young lettuce mix.
Backyard Jams & Jellies has many choices this year. If you are looking for a stocking stuffer, or just some great jams, chutneys, or jellies for the holiday season, please take a look at the selections we have. For more choices, stop by the Garden on Tuesday or Saturday.
Chapel’s Country Creamery makes some of the nicest cheese we have ever had. Their onsite creamery produces fresh and aged cheese from their pastured, grass-fed dairy cows. Our favorites include cheddar, which boasts a touch of sharpness while remaining moist and creamy, Bay Blue, a Stilton-style variety with creamy undercurrents, Woodbine with the perfect balance of savory and sweet flavors, and Smooth Sails, a Fromage Blanc style that’s airy and creamy (like cream cheese). This cheese is perfect on its own with crackers and Backyard’s jam, or as an ingredient used to make cheesecake, cakes and custard.
From Gaia Coffee Co. we have available four blends of their specialty Costa Rican coffee that is craft-roasted in small batches to guarantee a beautiful, consistent roast every time. You can purchase them whole bean or ground.
- Slower Lower Blend — Blend of Colombian, Brazil and Costa Rican beans. This is medium-dark roast with notes of toffee, semi-sweet chocolate with a full bodied finish. Perfect for any occasion.
- Aquiares CentroAmericano — Full-bodied, medium roast exotic coffee with hints of cacao, oranges & almonds. This coffee is from Diego Robelo at Aquiares Estate, a third-generation coffee farmer with a love for growing specialty coffee and treating the environment right while doing so.
- Colombia Palmera Decaf — This coffee is a blend of multiple regions in Colombia. Has hints of cinnamon, caramel and citrus notes.
- Nasa Blend — A classic, consistent, and smooth coffee. Has hints of molasses & chocolate notes.
AlaskaWild provides us with some of the best wild fish available, directly from a family business based in Clam Gulch, Alaska. We carry whatever is in season and at present have salmon in the following varieties: Coho, Sockeye, Smoked Black-pepper, Smoked Cajun and of course, traditional. We also have Alaska Cod and Alaska Rockfish. This fish is flash-frozen and gets rave reviews from our customers.
Mahon River Farm brings us locally raised, locally fed and locally processed pasture-raised whole chickens.
Dittmar Family Farms raises Belted Galloway. This exquisite artisan beef is unlike any conventionally raised beef you will find in the supermarket. Known for a much leaner, yet nicely marbled meat, “Belties” averages 46% lower in calories, 70% lower in fat and saturated fat, 57% lower in cholesterol and 19% higher in protein than comparable beef breeds, including Angus. We are carrying a nice selection of their steaks, roasts and other beef cuts.
Davidson’s Mushrooms are essential in many kitchens and winter is no exception to get your Cremini, Grey Oyster, Lion’s Mane (Pom pom), Maiitake, Portabella and Shiitake mushrooms. We have them available in pint and quart sizes.
Stag Run Farm grows multiple varieties of apples that we love. The apples we have available are Aztec Fuji, Top Export Fuji, Gold Rush, Granny Smith, Snapp Stayman, Stayman, Winesap and assorted apples seconds which are ideal for baking. All our apples are available in quart size (approximately 2 lbs.).
From Chrissy Bee’s, a division of Stag Run Farm, we have wildflower raw honey, Dutch clover raw honey and raw honeycomb.
From Twin Posts, we have wonderful free-range chicken eggs.
We hope you enjoy what we bring to you and continue to eat well into the winter.
