Hattie’s Garden is happy to be pulling delicious Napoli carrots again this week. These carrots are a first-rate Nantes type with a delicious sweet and crisp flavor.
Our fresh and delicious microgreens are doing well and receive a lot of rave reviews from our customers. Take a look at the online order form for our current list of available microgreens. If there is a microgreen you do not see and would like us to grow, please let Hattie know.
We continue to offer young lettuce mix and young mesclun, all triple-washed for you. In addition, we nice large watermelon radishes grown by Taylor Heydt from Lavender Fields. These are lovely when roasted and a favorite of our local chefs. We also have small to medium size red potatoes from Four River Produce. These potatoes have a mild, buttery, and earthy flavor and are best suited for potato salad, roast, and sautéing because they hold their shape well when cooked.
And for a limited time, beautiful handmade wreaths from Derby Mill Farm Botanicals (pictured).
Other great salad ingredients are available from 302 Aquaponics, along with fresh-cut aquaponically grown herbs and their very nicely raised Tilapia. From Williwaw Farm, we have some of the sweetest organically grown rutabagas we have ever tasted and plenty of nice quality purple top turnips.
AlaskaWild provides us with some of the best wild fish available, directly from a family business based in Clam Gulch, Alaska. We carry whatever is in season and at present have Sockeye Salmon, Cajun or black pepper smoked salmon, Alaska Cod and Alaska Rockfish. This fish is flash-frozen and gets rave reviews from our customers.
Dittmar Family Farms’ chicken is on our dinner table every week and it can be on yours. This delicious free-range chicken is available in halves, wholes and quarter leg/thigh pieces. For beef or pork, we feature both Woodbine Farms and Enoch Farms. Woodbine is an offshoot of Chapel’s Country Creamery and is providing us with nice free-range beef and pork products. Enoch Farms has also asked us to carry some of their customized sausage products and other pork products.
In addition an assortment of jams and jellies from Backyard Jams & Jellies, Krista is offering Chokeberry Jelly for a limited time. If you haven’t tried it yet, it has a deep, intense, and delicious flavor! We also have available from Stag Run Farm’s Chrissy’s Bees wildflower raw honey and Dutch clover raw honey.
From Twin Posts, we have wonderful free-range chicken eggs.
Chapel’s Country Creamery makes some of the nicest cheeses we have ever had. Their on-farm cheese-making operation is one of the first of its kind in Maryland. We love their Brie and cheddars, as well as their fresh cheeses and especially their alpine style Woodbine cheese.
Many of you will be excited to know we are able to get Davidson’s Mushrooms this winter! We carry all types of their mushrooms and if there is a mix you would like, let us know and we will add it to our list.
We hope you enjoy what we bring to you and continue to eat well into the winter.
