Important Update

Week 6 and Week 7 will be the last two weeks of the Winter CSA until there is a spring thaw and a new round of vegetables.

Colder than normal temperatures began in November and with the exception of a few spikes in temperature, the cold has been with us consistently.

This last bout of weather where temperatures were in the single digits with accompanying gusty winds have done catastrophic damage to much of my produce and that of supporting farmers.

What we have left should supply the next two weeks for nice CSA shares.

We will be crediting you with any remaining amount from the CSA. You will receive a statement showing your credit with Hattie’s Garden which will be good for produce or plants this spring and summer. If we can offer CSA shares prior to the start of the farmers market, we will do so and we will also have plant sales here at the house beginning in April where your credit will be gladly accepted. We will keep you updated.

We are grateful for the consideration you have given us by investing in our winter CSA and know that another winter might be very different than this one. Our weather is volatile and will remain so. Our job as farmers is to learn to navigate the volatility and I appreciate your support and belief in Hattie’s Garden to explore farming with these new climate challenges.

We are carrying Twin Post free range eggs this week. They are $5 per dozen. Please please contact us no later than 6 p.m., Thursday, January 16, if you would like them included with your share. We can deduct the cost from your CSA credit.

You may select ANY item from your share list and replace it with a swap listed below. Please contact us no later than Thursday, January 16 at 6 p.m. to let us know.

Additional Information

Delivery: For those of you who are signed up for delivery, you will receive your order on Saturday morning, January 18.

Pickup: The preferred day for pickup is on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the shares will be clearly marked for each customer. Pickup on Sunday or Monday is fine, but please contact us in advance to let us know when you would like to come, so we can make sure you have access to the garage.
