What’s in This Week’s CSA Share?

Our second week’s CSA share will include a root vegetable of your choice of either baby beets, Hakurei turnips or young carrots. We are unable to give each share the same vegetable, as they are all slow in sizing up with this cold weather. You may email us your first preference and a second choice and we will do our best to accommodate everyone. Carrots will be limited, but eventually everyone will get them. The mesclun this week will include some additional ingredients, such as baby pak choi, arugula, pea tendrils, young mustard greens and young turnip greens as we thin these vegetables. You may swap any item from your share for any available swap item listed below.

If you would like to swap please contact us no later than Thursday, December 12 at 6 p.m. to let us know.

• Salad Mix — limited to one for medium shares and two for large shares.

• Braising Greens — larger thinnings of some of the mesclun items mentioned above and may certainly be eaten raw, but also are wonderful very quickly “braised” or stirfried. Do not overcook them! Just a minute or so to wilt and they are delicious and very tender.

Additional Information

Delivery: For those of you who are signed up for delivery, you will receive your order on Saturday morning, December 14.

Pickup: The preferred day for pickup is on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the shares will be clearly marked for each customer. Pickup on Sunday or Monday is fine, but please contact us in advance to let us know when you would like to come, so we can make sure you have access to the garage.

Five-Share Option: If you have purchased the 5-share option and would like one of your shares this week, please contact us as soon as possible, but no later than Thursday, December 12 at 6 p.m.
