Chrismukkah
Start the New Year with produce and other great food through Hattie’s Garden Garden Delivery / Pickup Service.
We wish you a happy Chrismukkah and season’s greetings to all of you, of every faith.
This year, Hanukkah and Christmas overlap beginning tonight. The Jewish holiday, which celebrates the miracle of the oil that lasted eight whole days, begins on December 24 at sundown, just as Santa’s sleigh takes off to deliver presents to every child in the world overnight.
The last time that this exact Christmas / Hanukkah overlap happened was in 1978, and the next time it will happen will be in 2027.
For some extra merriment, watch the video below, shared by World Jewish Congress. From Argentina, Rabbi Marcelo Polakoff and Bishop Pedro Torres teamed together to send their musical holiday blessings to people celebrating Christmas and Hanukkah.
It’s so heartening to see leaders of different faiths coming together, and feels especially apt this year as the first night of Hanukkah begins on Christmas Eve — making for a literal Chrismukkah if there ever was one.
