Plant Sales are Beginning
Hattie’s Garden will begin the first of our plant sales this week! We will open Thursday from 2 to 5 and Saturday during the regular pickup time from 9 to 2 for our initial plant sales. Watch for an email Tuesday morning to see exactly what we will have available for plants this week. The list should include at a minimum lettuce, arugula, swiss chard, cilantro, dill, additional herbs in 4″ pots and much more.
As we did last year, some produce will always be available at the Garden without needing to fill out an order form, but the most complete list is on the order form and we encourage you to order ahead, especially as we are just at the very beginning of our produce season.

What we are Planting
Last week we potted up over 1,000 plants into their 4″ pots. Many tomato varieties, pepper varieties, eggplants and herbs. They will be ready for you soon. We also planted lots of onions out in the garden.
We started more flowers and we started our second batch of tomatoes, eggplants and pepper plants. They will be our final batch this year and will be ready in about five-six weeks. Our first batch should be ready for you in about 10 days to two weeks.
Vermont Compost Potting Soil
Yes, Vermont Compost potting soil is here! You may order it from the order form, or pick it up when you come to the Garden.
We offer two kinds of potting soil in 20 qt. bags: Vermont Compost Fort Lite, (a complete germinating and transplant mix, and is particularly desirable for growers using smaller celled flats or hanging baskets) and Vermont Compost Fort Vee, (a compost-based germination and/or transplant mix, designed for *soil blocks, trays, and pots). There is no better potting soil company that I know of.
