Hattie’s Garden is a small market-garden, growing vegetables, herbs and specialty cut flowers in Lewes, Delaware. We subscribe to sustainable farming practices and use organic gardening principles, but because of our small size, we are not certified organic. However, we do grow food in an ecologically and ethically responsible manner.
Stella and winter produce. First, winter which is on its way with predicted temperatures dipping into the mid 20s by the end of the week. Luckily some of the things we grow are fairly well protected in high tunnels or greenhouses and some produce is very hardy and can withstand pretty cold temperatures. We operate a delivery & pickup service on Saturday mornings during the “off-season” when the HLFM is not in session, selling produce we grow, as well as offering a variety of produce and other authentic food from local farmers & vendors.
We grow a variety of plants for the home gardener in the spring, which include tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, herbs, flowers. We are open at the garden every Thursday & Friday from 3 – 6 during the farmers market season.
From April through November, you can find us selling produce and lovely flower arrangements at the Garden Shack Farmers Market on Thursdays from 2-6, and the HLFM on Saturdays from 8-12 through Sep., & 9-12 in Oct. & Nov.
